About

Dried Prince Ginseng Root (Tai Zi Shen) can be found in Chinese provinces such as Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong. Tai Zi Shen is typically plucked in the summer after leaves wither.

Traditionally, Tai Zi Shen is planted in nutrient-rich soil (similar to compost) for two years to allow the rhizome to absorb the nutrients from the ground. During this time, the herb also absorbs the smell of the soil, and because of this, Tai Zi Shen may have a 'musty' smell but that is a sign of a genuine, authentic herb.
