Everyone loves a piece of pie, especially when it's made with dried black plums which are great for vitamin and mineral content, alongside a kick of cracking cinnamon!
Ingredients
-
500g of dried black plums
2 unbaked pie crusts
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tbsp flour
-
1 tsp grounded cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees (Gas Mark 8).
Place one pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, then wash the black plums.
Cut the plums in half (whilst removing the pit), then into quarters.
Arrange plums evenly in the pie crust.
Mix together the flour, ground cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle these over the top of the plums.
Slightly glaze the mix evenly with the butter.
Place top crust over the plums, then trim the crust to fit the edge.
Cut 6 slits into the top of the pie.
Bake in the oven for around 12 minutes at Gas Mark 8, then reduce the heat to 325 degrees (Gas Mark 3) for a further 25 minutes.
Once this time has elapsed, remove from the oven and allow to stand for 3 minutes.
Slice into portions, serve and enjoy!
