Dried Red Sage is a common culinary herb, but you may not be familiar with the bright red version that Dan Shen comes from.

This is a traditional Chinese herb made from the dried root of the red sage plant. It has a long history of use in China and other Asian countries.

Recommended Dosage

Daily recommendation: 2 capsules per day | 500mg of herb per vegan capsule | 60 capsules per bottle

I've been using danshen for some time in an effort to help alleviate/improve my mother's cardio- and cerebrovascular problems, in combination with other herbs, vitamins and minerals, as an alternative to (most of her) drugs. It's hard to isolate the individual effects of each particular herb, but the overall effect is positive, so I'm continuing to use it. Good quality product. Prompt delivery with no issues. My only quibble -- I didn't get my question answered regarding the amount of tanshinones in the product. I'd still like to know the answer!
